My years as an entrepreneur, operating an advertising agency, being an account executive for an ABC affiliate and the director of marketing strategies at Wheeler Broadcasting, have merged to become a road that now defines the skills that I have to help executives communicate their message clearly and successfully to their “tribes” (as Seth Godin would say).
Lynda’s Story
Lynda started her first company at 21 years old in Roanoke, VA, with her first husband Dan, Best Pest Control, Inc., and sold it ten years later to Terminix International. Next was a successful full service advertising agency that her current husband, Allen Foster, now owns and operates. Lynda stepped directly into media companies, ABC-13 (as an account executive) and Wheeler Broadcasting in Roanoke, VA, (as the Director of Client Marketing Strategies) for a period of 8 years to obtain a perspective on advertising and marketing that would result in a true 360 view that few marketing and advertising specialists obtain by the age of 45.
Few professionals, in her field, have the scope of knowledge in marketing, advertising, social media, public relations, and executive and entrepreneur coaching that Lynda has achieved. Lynda was honored by the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce with the prestigious Small Business Advocate of the Year award in 2009 and by the Roanoke Regional Small Business Development Center in 2011 for the same award. These honors would be the fire that ignited and has kept her drive to inspire more small business owners to realize their dream.
Having graduated from Miami Dade College and earned her coaching certification from the school of Hilton Johnson, her daily research and self development focuses on the psychology of change whether it focused on leaders and executives or people and customers they serve.
Lynda also founded the EXPAND! contest (www.expandcontest.com). A contest for business owners in Southwest Virginia held in 2011. This 3-month long competition drew more than 175 business owners to showcase their skills and working business models with a prize of more than $35,000 in cash and business services.
Along the way, Lynda was part of the team that launched the most successful Facebook page for a country music radio station in the United States for WSLC, 94.9 Star Country. In just 6 short weeks, through a direct promotion focus, Star Country’s Facebook page developed more than 34,000 fans.
Lynda is the founder of SynergySessions.org, ExpandContest.com, and SuperSynergy.org. She is also a partner of VoltageLeadership.com.
